GTM Unleashed: How do I know if what we are doing to attract new customers and keep existing customers is working?

I cannot stress this enough, you have to pay attention to the numbers, as numbers are your friend and they do not lie. It starts by measuring the integration of a marketing plan and a company’s business plan requires the use of metrics and key performance indicators (KPIs). Some of the metrics and KPIs that can be used to measure the integration of the two plans include:

  1. Sales performance: This can be measured by tracking sales revenue, sales growth, and sales by product or service.
  2. Customer engagement: This can be measured by tracking metrics such as website traffic, social media engagement, email open and click-through rates, and customer satisfaction scores.
  3. Brand awareness: This can be measured by tracking metrics such as website traffic, social media engagement, and customer feedback.
  4. Return on investment (ROI): This can be measured by tracking the return on investment for each marketing channel and comparing it to the cost of the marketing efforts.
  5. Market share: This can be measured by tracking the company’s market share compared to its competitors and evaluating trends over time.
  6. Lead generation: This can be measured by tracking the number of qualified leads generated by each marketing channel and comparing it to the cost of the marketing efforts.
  7. Customer acquisition: This can be measured by tracking the number of new customers acquired through each marketing channel and comparing it to the cost of the marketing efforts.

By regularly tracking and analyzing these metrics, a company can determine if its marketing plan and business plan are integrated and aligned with its goals. If there is a discrepancy between the two plans, the company can adjust its marketing efforts to align more closely with its business goals.
